Representing those who travel on a budget, both on money and time, that is the small-time jetsetter. I travel not to find myself, but to create myself, small pieces at a time, with memories, adventures, and stories of people I have met, until I make a masterpiece of how I see the world.

    There is an art to travelling on a budget, whatever age you are.

      You’re right, traveling on a budget is an art. Although I would love traveling in luxury and comfort with a packaged tour and all the accommodations and transportation so I don’t have to worry about anything, I would prefer traveling on a budget and making my own itinerary because I get to learn more, experience new things and meet a lot of people.

      1. Exactly.
        Luxury is to be experienced on occasions – by that I don’t mean just yachts and sports cars (because I have neither!!!) but I do mean a more expensive coffee sometimes or those nice shoes, or dress.
        Living generally on a budget brings with it a satisfaction all of its own. I’m sure really rich people get bored eventually!!

      2. I agree! I get happy every time I get to buy an expensive bag or shoes because I can only afford them once in a while. If I can buy anything I want anytime I want it would be really boring. What makes life interesting is that we work hard to achieve what we want. I think people who don’t live in luxury will be able to appreciate life more.

  4. I’d really like to know more about ways to travel on budget without burning a hole in my pocket. Because when I’d start making my own money, I sure want to travel and visit the deepest corners of the world. That’s a long time dream of mine. 🙂 🙂

      1. Going through 195 countries and the more so no. of cities is probably impossible in one lifetime. But yeah, I’d surely check out your posts more thoroughly after my exams. 🙂 🙂

      2. Thank you. You’re right, visiting all countries in one lifetime is impossible, unless if you’re filthy rich with nothing to do. I haven’t been outside of Asia yet because it’s so difficult to go on a long vacation due to my job. But now I’m starting to think about quitting my job and traveling to the other side of the world.😄 I just have to overcome one obstacle, which is to not become dirt poor when I’m done with my vacation.😂

      3. ha ha ha ha! Well, I am just 18 and I am not yet into college. And here I am already planning ways of bunking my college classes and going to places around my country(for the start, I think, I’d better gain a little experience in my own country!) Well I keep wondering everyday about all those people who travel around the world and it’s like the only job they have, they get paid for travelling, they get to see places, meet people, know cultures, learn history……so much of experience and you get paid as well! I really long for such a life but then, just like you, I too got the fear of losing all my money(though I haven’t got any of my own other than my parents’) in my tours. And that’s why I am really glad I found my way to your blog! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

      4. You’re still very young so you have a lot of time to plan your travels in the future.😉 It’s amazing that you already know you want to see the world at your age. When I was in university I never even dreamed of traveling abroad and all I did was read books.😆 It’s something that just hit me and I just wanted to do everything at once, which is so hard to do. And yes it’s a great idea to explore your country first! I also envy those people who get paid to travel. But traveling on a budget using my own money actually gives me a sense of fulfilment. It makes me feel like I’m truly independent.😊 You’ll know what I mean when you travel someday. I’m looking forward to your future adventures.😊

      5. That is one of the very first thing that appeals to me about travelling: the certain sense of independence and confidence that your daily life can’t imbibe in you. And even all these 18 years, I have been a hard working student(not that I don’t wanna be one when I get into university) but travelling appeals to me great deals.
